St. Martin Released Mugshot Records
A booking photo records appearance at intake. Release occurs later and requires its own record. A St. Martin Parish mugshot may remain associated with a booking after someone leaves SMPSO custody, but no verified Sheriff source states how long an adult photo stays online. The official PublicLogs endpoint could not be inspected during the July 2026 research sweep, and the live local LAVNS page was a roster of incarcerated offenders rather than a released-photo archive.
Louisiana public-records law broadly includes photographs used or retained in public business, subject to constitutional and statutory exceptions. R.S. 44:3 identifies booking records under Code of Criminal Procedure art. 228 as public, yet this does not make every internal image or correctional file public. A custodian may redact exempt details and withhold protected juvenile, investigative, sealed, or expunged material.
Find St. Martin Released Mugshots
Start with the agency that created the image. For an adult parish booking, that is usually SMPSO. A state-correctional image belongs to DPS&C, while a local news image may have originated in an agency release. Each source has a different legal scope and a different ability to confirm what happened after booking.

VINELink and the Louisiana State Police registry are not general mugshot archives. A VINE result reports contributed custody status. The registry serves only people legally required to register. Absence from either system says nothing about whether a parish booking photo exists.

St. Martin Sheriff App Limits
SMPSO has an official iOS app, first launched in 2022 and later redesigned. The current store description promotes public-safety information, news, and reporting. It does not promise an inmate roster, recent-release module, or mugshot gallery. The app’s official status does not prove that a particular photo feature exists.
The official Sheriff app listing is the proper source for checking the current device offering.
The captured listing supports only the app’s existence and stated public-safety functions. A mugshot or release claim requires a current in-app screen plus agency confirmation.
If a device version does show a booking image, record the subject, booking date, and agency shown. Then confirm the case and release through SMPSO or the court. A screenshot of an old app image is not a release record and should not be republished merely because it remains viewable.

Request St. Martin Booking Photos
SMPSO’s Civil Bureau states that it handles criminal records management and other reporting requests through public-records requests. The July 2026 research review found no dedicated online form, local copy-fee schedule, promised turnaround, or designated custodian email. Contact the Main Office at 400 St. Martin Street, P.O. Box 247, St. Martinville, LA 70582, or call 337-394-3071 and ask where the records custodian accepts a written request.
- Identify the person with full legal name and other known identifiers. Include the approximate arrest or booking date.
- Add the booking number when known. That local key is safer than relying on a name alone.
- Ask for “the releasable booking photograph tied to this booking, if maintained.” Do not demand protected records.
- Request inspection or electronic delivery and ask for a cost estimate before copying.
- If part is exempt, ask for the segregable nonexempt portion and the legal basis for withholding.
- Match any produced photo to the booking entry and court disposition. Confirm release separately.
Louisiana R.S. 44:1, 44:3, and 44:32 frame the request, exemptions, access, and fees. The lack of a posted SMPSO price does not mean the record is free. A phone response may route the request, but a written reply preserves what was produced or denied.
For a state-correctional image, request it from DPS&C rather than SMPSO. DPS&C states that imprisoned-person records are substantially confidential outside limited information. A full file, discharge reason, or photograph may be withheld or redacted. Request narrowly and do not promise a result.
Note: The booking agency controls its image, while the court record supplies disposition context and the custodian supplies the actual release entry.
St. Martin Released Mugshot Context
A booking image can appear in an SMPSO news or social post or in a local press report after the live roster changes. Such an image remains tied to the arrest report’s date. It does not establish the later charge outcome, a conviction, the time or manner of release, or the person’s current appearance.
Commercial archives present an even greater context risk. Images can be stale, attached to the wrong same-name person, or separated from a dismissal or expungement. No commercial mugshot publisher or removal business is linked here. An old indexed image must not be used as a workaround when an official record is restricted or no longer public.
Use the arresting or booking agency named with the image as a lead. Ask SMPSO for the booking number and releasable photo, identify the correct filing court, and compare the chronological minutes with the release entry. St. Martin’s 16th JDC product excludes Breaux Bridge City Court, St. Martinville City Court, and Henderson Town Court, so a blank district search may point to the wrong court rather than no case.
Current-custody and released status also differ. A person shown on the local adult roster is reported as incarcerated by that source. A person missing from it may have been released, transferred, removed through a lawful access change, or affected by data lag. The image alone resolves none of those branches.
St. Martin Expungement Photo Rules
St. Martin Parish has a concrete local expungement process through the Clerk. Louisiana Code of Criminal Procedure arts. 971 and 972 explain that expungement removes covered arrest and conviction records, photographs, fingerprints, disposition, and related arrest information from public access. It does not destroy the underlying record. Criminal-justice agencies and other entities identified by law may retain access.
The Clerk publishes a minimum of 90 days for an expungement and at least two weeks for a Motion and Order to Set Aside Conviction and Dismiss Prosecution. These are processing minima, not eligibility advice or guaranteed completion dates. The Clerk lists its Traffic/Expungement Clerk at 337-680-6090. A requester should use current uniform forms and the articles that govern the specific case.

The statute helps explain why a once-visible St. Martin booking photo may lawfully disappear without proving that no booking or release occurred.
R.S. 14:133.7 separately protects covered juvenile information and material subject to expungement or nondisclosure notice. Juvenile custody must never be routed through the adult roster or photo workflow. When public access ends, do not reconstruct the image from a cache or an old archive.

Louisiana Mugshot Removal Protections
Current Code of Criminal Procedure art. 234 principally addresses publications that seek payment to remove a mugshot. When the statutory conditions and proof are met, such as acquittal or nonprosecution, expungement, vacation, or pardon, a covered publisher must remove or destroy the image within seven calendar days and may not charge for removal. Mere release does not create a general erasure right.
A 2024 amendment removed older law-enforcement dissemination limits. It would be inaccurate to claim that Louisiana agencies are broadly forbidden from releasing adult booking photos. The correct approach is to ask the custodian, allow review under public-records law, and respect any denial, redaction, expungement, juvenile restriction, or nondisclosure notice.
This resource is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Mugshot data may not be used for any FCRA-covered purpose. A photo can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong, and must be checked against the original agency and court record.

St. Martin Mugshots and Registries
The Louisiana State Police Sex Offender and Child Predator Registry is a narrow system for people who have a legal duty to register. It is not a general source for St. Martin Parish released inmates. A reported registry image, address, or status pertains only to that covered class and does not serve as a parish release certificate.

Verify St. Martin Released Mugshots
A sound photo match uses more than a face or name. Compare the full legal name, date of birth when lawfully available, booking number, booking date, arresting agency, and filing court. A charge is an allegation recorded at booking. The later court record may amend, dismiss, or resolve it.

After matching the booking, call or write SMPSO for the actual release or transfer entry. Then read the correct court minutes for bond, dismissal, sentence, time served, probation, or another order. If the person transferred to DPS&C or a federal agency, use that receiving system to continue the custody check.
